I recently had this idea: create a white t-shirt with text reading “Available for Hire,” featuring a QR code linking to my website, Frantz Studio. The back would display a large QR code for easy scanning.
My mind immediately started wandering. Would I actually wear such a t-shirt, or is it too bold, broadcasting to everyone that I am job hunting? Should the QR code link to a specific landing page like /t-shirt or /hire-me? What would that page include? A list of services I offer, a brief story explaining the t-shirt concept, and perhaps a way for people to refer me or share my information with others.
Then came the practical concerns. How could I do this in an eco-friendly way? Creating new clothing is not ideal environmentally, but I am actively looking for clients. Plus, I have this quirk of avoiding things too far outside my comfort zone. And honestly, this idea is not novel. It has been done before.
The AI Experiment
I turned to AI to find the best eco-friendly t-shirt printer using the prompt: “Best place to print eco friendly white T shirt”
I tested four platforms: Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity.
They each gave me different answers, some overlap, some new names. It reminded me how visibility online is changing. Getting found now means showing up inside these AI generated answers.
Whether I print the shirt or not, this small search became a quiet little study in how we discover things online today.
More on that on another post.
